Summary:Disclosed is a polarizing plate comprising a polarizing film wherein a dichroic dye is adsorbed and oriented on a polyvinyl alcohol resin film, and a protective layer formed on at least one side of the polarizing film and composed of a cured product of a curable resin composition containing an active energy ray-curable compound. The active energy ray-curable compound contains a compound having atleast one epoxy group in a molecule and a (meth)acrylic compound having at least one (meth)acryloyloxy group in a molecule. The protective layer has an elastic modulus of 3,300-10,000 MPa. The polarizing plate is made thinner and more lightweight, while maintaining good adhesion between the polarizing film and the protective layer and being improved in hardness of the protective layer. Also disclosed are an optical member and a liquid crystal display device, each using the polarizing plate.
