Summary:Disclosed is a method for evaluating the quality of a blood sample of interest, which comprises the steps of: mixing a labeled anti-cortisol antibody with the blood sample to thereby conduct the antigen-antibody reaction between the labeled anti-cortisol antibody and cortisol contained in the blood sample; developing the mixture produced in the preceding step on an immunochromatographic test specimen having a substrate with cortisol immobilized thereon to thereby cause the antigen-antibody reaction between the labeled anti-cortisol antibody which is present in the mixture in a released form and cortisol immobilized on the substrate, thereby biding the labeled anti-cortisol antibody to cortisol; measuring the quantity of the labeled anti-cortisol antibody that has bound to cortisol in the preceding step; and determining whether or not the blood sample has a quality suitable for a suprarenal vein sampling test, based on the quantity of the labeled anti-cortisol antibody measured in the preceding step.
