Summary:The present invention provides an air conditioner, capable of shortening detection time and reducing the obstacle detection performance of an ultrasonic sensor to the utmost by limiting the obstacle detection of the ultrasonic sensor in a prescribed area in each operation of the air conditioner. An indoor unit of the air conditioner is provided with a human body detection device for detecting whether there is a person or not and an obstacle detection device for detecting whether there is an obstacle or not, and wind direction changing fins arranged in the indoor unit is controlled according to the detection signal of the human body detection device and the detection signal of the obstacle detection device. In addition, the area where the air is adjusted is divided into several zones in left and right directions observing from the indoor unit, and the obstacle detection device is used to detect the obstacle in each zone when the air conditioner is operated.
