Summary:The present invention provides an air conditioner, capable of implementing suitable air blow control without obstruction of obstacles by a simple control structure without consideration of infringing upon human's privacy. In the air conditioner having louver boards (6, 7) for controlling the flowing direction of the air discharged from an air blow-out port (5), a ground detection unit (9) is used for detecting the ground observed in the blow-out direction of the blow-out port, the louver boards (6, 7) are controlled according to the detection result of the ground detection unit (9), and the ground detection unit (9) adopts an ultrasonic distance sensor such that the privacy of people will not be subjected to infraction. Thereby, it is possible to implement suitable air blow control without obstruction of obstacles by the simple control structure.
