The invention provides light-matrix grass mat with Chinese medicinal dregs and a preparation method thereof. The preparation method of the grass mat comprises the following steps of: 1) performing semi-carbonization on part of the Chinese medicinal dregs serving as raw materials to obtain a semi-carbonization matrix, and fermenting part of the Chinese medicinal dregs to obtain a fermented matrix; and 2) planting grass seeds by taking the Chinese medicinal dregs processed in the step 1) as a cultivation matrix to prepare the grass mat. In the light-matrix grass mat, the Chinese medicinal dregs processed appropriately are applied to the production of the grass mats, so that a new path for the waste utilization of the Chinese medicinal dregs is provided. Experiments prove that various grass mats of different planting varieties can be prepared by the method, and the grass mats have the advantages of excellent growth, light weight and convenient transportation.
