Summary:The invention provides a method and a terminal for offline file control. The method comprises the following steps: taking the time of a server as synchronizing time when the terminal is connected with the server and locally recording the synchronizing time; through locally timing, updating the synchronizing time at an interval of preset time; and when a file is opened, judging whether the authority of the terminal is overdue or not according to the synchronizing time and the time authority of the file, if so, refusing the operation to the file. Since an independent time timing method is adopted and the time of an operating system is not directly used, the embodiment of the invention has the advantage that a user is prevented from bypassing the offline control of the file through modifying the time of the operating system.
