Summary:The invention relates to a method for controlling a driver assistance system (10) comprising an LKS function, wherein the activation of the LKS function may cause a lateral oscillating movement of the vehicle (100). Zones (Z1, Z2, Z3, Z4) having given requirements are defined in an area ahead of the vehicle (100). Inside these zones the respective driving state of the vehicle (100) is monitored to see if it meets the requirements. In the affirmative, the presence of an oscillating movement of the vehicle (100) is assumed.
