The invention discloses a system and a method for filling butter. The system comprises a motor and an annular roller conveyor. A tray is arranged on the annular roller conveyor. The system also comprises a PLC controller used for controlling system operation. An inner side of the annular roller conveyor is provided with a primary pump and a replenishment pump which are connected with the PLC controller. The annular roller conveyor is also respectively provided with a front photoelectric sensor, a rear photoelectric sensor, a front micro switch, and a rear micro switch corresponding to the primary pump and the replenishment pump. Meanwhile, a jacking oil cylinder with a gravity transducer corresponding to the replenishment pump is also arranged on the annular roller conveyor. The front photoelectric sensor and the rear photoelectric sensor are used for positioning, the filling of the butter is realized by the primary pump, whether the filling accords with the standard is detected by the gravity transducer, and
