The invention discloses a method and a system for managing transparent text box business of a video program, wherein the method comprises the following steps: using a management platform for configuring a sub-program loading PIW business for the program, sending the corresponding relationship between the program and the sub-program to an EPG server for saving, and using the EPR server for saving text information about the program input by all users as PIW display information of the corresponding sub-program and updating in a real-time manner; and using an STB for forwarding a PIW business request of the user to the EPR server, using the EPR server for searching the sub-program which corresponds to the current playing program according to program information of the current playing program carried in the PIW business request, further sending the PIW display information in the sub-program to the STB and using the STB to display the PIW display information on a client for the user.
