A waste liquid conveying mechanism (100) includes a plurality of individual pipes (4A-4D), a single pipe (5), an upstream pipe (6), a pressure gauge (9), a control section (1) and a buffer tank (7). The individual pipes (4A-4D) convey the waste liquid of respective color inks collected by recovery units (20A-20D). The single pipe (5) conveys the waste liquid conveyed from the individual pipes (4A-4D) to a waste liquid tank (2). The upstream pipe (6) is connected to the upstream side of the joint of the single pipe (5) and the individual pipe (4D), and the buffer tank (7) is connected to the upstream end thereof. The buffer tank (7) is hermetically closed when a lid (8) is closed. The pressure gauge (9) is provided in the buffer tank (7) to detect the pressure in the buffer tank (7). The control section (1) controls driving of liquid conveying pumps (P1-P4) based on the detection value of the pressure gauge (9).
