The invention relates to a method for processing alumina red-mud settlement scrap by a Bayer process, which is characterized in that the process comprises the following steps of: arranging a settlement trough mud in a pulpifier added beside a flat base settlement trough; adding a lotion for pulpification in the production process of the alumina, thus obtaining a mixed red-mud slurry; separating the red-mud slurry and scaring blocks through a rotary screen by the overflowing of the pulpifier; manually removing the scaring blocks for other treatment; flowing the red-mud slurry into an overflow trough used for the red-mud separation process by a chute; and pumping the overflow of the overflow trough into a final washing settlement trough by a centrifugal pump. The method can reduce the mud close to the settlement trough, ensures the normal removal of the settlement trough and improves the settlement field environment.
