Summary:An operating device for a differential lock in a vehicle comprises a separate connecting means which is movable relative to a driving shaft in its axial direction but fixed in its rotational direction, and a second connecting means which is fixed relative to a second driving shaft in its axial direction, and wherein the differential lock is engaged by a mechanically firm connection being effected between the two connecting means by the latter being brought into engagement with one another by means of a operating fork which has two limbs adapted to fitting in a groove of the separate connecting means, and wherein the proximal ends of the limbs are connected to one another via a body, the distal ends of the limbs are bent inwards towards one another and the distal ends of the limbs are arranged at a distance from one another which is smaller than cross- sectional diameter of the portion of the separate connecting means which is bounded by the bottom surface of the groove in which the connecting means is retaine
