Summary:The invention relates to a fiber grating bandwidth tuning method belonging to the technical field of optical fiber sensing and optic fiber communication. An optical fiber connector welded with one end of a fiber grating is connected with a coupler and a spectroanalysis instrument or a demodulator. Movement amount and direction of a moving platform are determined on a human-computer interaction interface on a PC computer. Then, a stepping motor drives a precision screw mandrel to rotate so as to push a flange and the moving platform to move on a horizontal sliding rod without swinging. During the movement of the moving platform, the upward-bending degree of an elastic rod does not change. As the strain distribution generated by the bending does not change, a difference between the maximum strain and the minimum strain which are suffered by the grating area changes so as to realize the bandwidth tuning of a fiber grating reflectance spectrum.
