Summary:The present invention provides a guide wire which has a wire body. The wire body is composed of a first wire which is disposed at a distal end thereof and a second wire. The second wire is jointed to a proxial end of the first wire. The invention is characterized in that the outer diameter of the wire body at the joint is larger than the outer diameter of the parts at the proxial end and the distal end of the joint.
