Summary:The invention discloses a real time service bandwidth applying method. The method comprises steps of detecting the length of a real-time polling service (rtPS) alignment at the present moment; predicting a bandwidth needing requiring in the present polling period, according to the additional bandwidth actually needed by the previous polling period, predicated additional bandwidth of the previous polling period and the length of the real-time polling service (rtPS) alignment at the present moment; sending a bandwidth requirement according to the bandwidth needing requiring in the present polling period. The invention also discloses a real time service bandwidth applying apparatus. By using the method and apparatus, the bandwidth predicting result will be more correct; time delay performance of real-time services under WiMAX is improved effectively, real-time services scheduling time is reduced and requirements of buffer areas are reduced.
