The invention discloses a digital image interface and a method for realizing data transmission between an ultrasonic device and an image workstation. The digital image interface comprises an interface control module, a data transmitting and receiving unit, and an interface memory; the data transmitting and receiving unit is in communication link with the image workstation and the interface control module separately, and is used for achieving serial/parallel conversion and transmission of data; the interface control module is connected with the ultrasonic device, and is used for receiving and responding to an order from the image workstation; and data required by the image workstation is acquired from the ultrasonic device, then cached in the interface memory and at the same time sent by the data transmitting and receiving unit back to the image workstation.
