An inflator device (100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 600) is disclosed. The inflator device (100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 600) includes a seal assembly (102) that maintains, while sealing from ambient pressure (AP), an open air passageway (125) between a tire bead (16) and wheel bead seat (18) during an inflation procedure. A seal (106-106c) for the inflator device (100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 600) is also disclosed. The seal (106-106c) includes a ring-shape having a flexible inner periphery (150-15Oc) that is adapted to maintain, while sealing from ambient pressure (AP), an open air passageway (125) between a tire bead (16) and wheel bead seat (18) during an inflation procedure.
