The invention provides a method of implementing navigation based on mobile phone short messages. The short message for navigation must comprise GPS position information. The short message for navigation can be obtained by the mobile phone coding, or can be downloaded to the mobile phone by other ways. When implementing the method of the invention, the navigation destination is determined by the position information included in the short message recording position information by a format of place name and position information or other formats. When carrying out the method of the invention, besides the current mobile phone system modules comprising a mobile phone functional module, a GPS module, GSM/GPRS/CDMA or other communication modules, camera module, etc., a short message coding software module for storing GPS position information and a short message decoding software module for reading GPS position information are newly increased if the short message navigation obtained by the mobile phone coding is used;
