Summary:The invention provides a heavy duty tire comprising at least three rib-like lands (7) where blocks sectioned by longitudinal main grooves (3) in the circumferential direction of the tire and lateral grooves (5) are arranged in the circumferential direction of the tire. The lateral groove (5) is provided, on the bottom (S) thereof, with a sipe forming region (Sy) having a siping (20) of 0.5-2.0 mm wide extending along the center line of the groove. Depth (DY) of the lateral groove (5) in the sipe forming region (Sy) falls within the range of 0.5-0.75 times the depth (H) of the longitudinal main groove (3), and the depth (DS) of the siping (20) falls within the range of 0.75-1.0 times the depth (H) of the longitudinal main groove.
