Summary:An image defect correcting system using oriented detection method includes: an image data memory, for storing two-dimension image data output from an image extracting device; a judging device, for determining whether the target pixel unit is a defect pixel unit; and a replacement device, for replacing the image data of target pixel into scheduled image data, if the target pixel unit is determined as a defect pixel unit. The judging step of the judging device includes: using a target pixel unit and plural image data of eight adjacent pixel units arranged at four directions (from upper to lower, from left to right, from lower to right, and from upper to lower) to judge whether the image data of target pixel units as remarkable points; counting the direction number of the remarkable points; and then judging whether the target pixel unit is the defect pixel unit according to the counted direction number.
