Summary:A method of operating an internal combustion engine 10 having a reductant delivery and storage system is disclosed in which the method comprises coordinating a physical condition associated with a reductant storage device 74 (such as reductant level or pressure) with a characteristic (such as the temperature or quantity) of a fluid stored in the reductant storage device 74 to determine the availability and make-up of the stored fluid. The engine operation is adjusted based upon the coordination of the physical condition associated with the reductant storage device 74 with the characteristic of the stored fluid.
