The invention provides a media flow information access charging method and a system, which carries out statistics on the media flow information including the media flow type and the sending time information and generates the media flow charging information based on the statistics to carry out subsequent charging statistics; the media flow request at a client is validated by the amount of media flow transmitting routes in the subscription information and the distribution information of the same type media flow and the media flow request information sent by the client is treated according to the validation result. The charging statistics based on a preset charging rule are carried out according to the amount of the media flow transmitting routes in the subscription information, the subscription information of the distribution information of the same type media flow and the media flow charging information. Simultaneously, the amount of the media access at the client are carried out statistics according to the me
