Summary:The invention relates to a halogen filament lamp comprising essentially a bulb, a dimming cover, three locking pins, and two spiral-wound filaments. The inside of the bulb is filled with a halogenated gas and at least one locking pin is soldered to the dimming cover. Said dimming cover consists of a molybdenum alloy containing between 0.1 and 1.5 wt. % of yttrium oxide and/or at least one oxide of the lanthanides. In this way, a constant oxygen supply and thus a related constant halogen cyclic process is achieved. Furthermore, the improved soldering properties enable the wall thickness of the dimming cover to be reduced.
