The invention relates to a method for obtaining ceramic layer on the surface of iron base and copper base material, which comprises the following steps: the conventional oil removal and derusting treatment is performed to the iron base and copper base material, after a layer of glossy and smooth electroplating aluminum layer is obtained through high temperature molten salt electroplating aluminum or low temperature molten salt electroplating aluminum, then the high temperature heating and chemical polishing treatment is performed to the iron base and copper base material with electroplating aluminum layer on the surface, and also the micro- arc oxidation treatment is performed, and the electroplating aluminum layer on the surface is totally or partially converted into Al2O3, and at last, the Al2O3 ceramic layer with a specific thickness is obtained on the surface of the iron base and copper base material. Through the process of the invention, the hardness, the corrosion resistance, and the high temperature ox
