Summary:A motor vehicle has a head-protecting side airbag (2) disposed in a region of a lateral roof longitudinal beam (1). The airbag (2) is covered by an outer cover (8) which can be pierced by the side airbag (2) when the need arises, wherein, the outer cover (8) laterally is transition into a platfond (9) which covers the vehicle roof (3) on the inner side facing the passenger compartment (5). It is essential for the invention to provide at least one fixing device (10) which is arranged at the transition of the outer cover (8) to the platfond (9) and is fixed on the roof longitudinal beam (1) which is the same as the platfond (9).
