Summary:In a sliding type mobile terminal, a sliding mechanism 25 is provided to couple slidably a first housing 3 having on its surface a vertically long liquid crystal display part 2 long in the vertical direction to a second housing 5 having on its surface an operating part 4 . This slide mechanism 25 includes a rail part 26 which is mounted on the surface of the second housing 5 in a manner of extending in the vertical direction and is configured such that when the first housing 3 has slidingly moved by means of the slide mechanism 25 to the upper end side of the second housing 5 , the operating part of the second housing 5 will appear. Further, by means of the cam mechanism 10 (support mechanism), the first housing 3 is supported relative to the second housing 5 in a switchable manner between the vertically long state and the horizontally long state.
