Summary: | The grafting modification process of endowing cotton fabric with water repelling function includes the following steps: washing and stoving cotton fabric; setting the cotton fabric into a plasma treating chamber and vacuuming the plasma treating chamber with a vacuum pump to below 5 Pa; introducing polymerisable monomer for 3-5 min and regulating the pressure to 10-50 Pa; and applying voltage to the electrodes in the plasma treating chamber for discharging to graft and polymerize the monomer to the fabric, with the discharge power being 50-120 W and the treating time being 120-600 s. The process can endow cotton fabric with excellent water repelling function in the water contacting angle up to 150 deg, and make cotton fabric soft and unchanged in color. |
