Summary:An image correction circuit capable of preventing a loss of gray levels in a luminance region at the time of the direct current level conversion of a luminance signal to improve the quality of a displayed image is provided. An image correction circuit includes: a luminance detection means for detecting an average peak level of input image data in each image frame; and an image correction means forcorrecting the input image data so as to lower the luminance of input image data in an intermediate luminance region according to the average peak level while reducing the luminance of input image data at a predetermined rate in at least of a low luminance region.
