Summary:A nonvolatile memory device which can be used in combination with plural kinds of memory controllers of different numbers of banks to be simultaneously accessed and which can realize a high-speed access. The nonvolatile memory device comprises a memory area divided into a plurality of banks capable of reading or writing data independently, and data registers of a number at least equal to that of the banks for storing either the data read from the memory area or the data to be written in the memory area. The nonvolatile memory device switches the connections between the plural banks and the plural data registers in a manner to match the number of banks to be simultaneously accessed.
