Summary: | A liquid crystal display having a plurality of pixel electrodes (6) and a plurality of non-linear devices (11) including device electrodes (14) electrically connected to the corresponding pixel electrodes (6). Each device electrode (14) has a pattern (14a) of which the shape is similar to the corresponding pixel electrode (6). The device electrode pattern (14a) prevents an etchant from entering the spaces between the pixel electrodes (6) and the device electrodes (14) and breaking the connection between these electrodes during the patterning of the pixel electrodes (6). When the device electrode patterns (14a) are made of a material with a higher light intercepting capability than that of the pixel electrodes (6), the patterns (14a) can be used as a mark for alignment when the device substrate and the opposed substrate are bonded together. |
