A pressing section (30) of a hydraulic actuator has an opening (30b) at a part of a circumferential surface of the pressing section. A case (15) has, in order to support a first brake lining group and a second brake lining group in an engaged manner, first and second splines continuously formed in the inner surface of the case such that their inner diameter dimension is larger on the second brake side than on the first brake side. In the boundary between the splines, a pressure receiving surface (47a) for supporting a backup plate is formed in place of the spline groove (48) of the first spline, the pressure receiving surface (47a) being at a position corresponding, when the pressing section (30) is pressed, to either of reinforcing portions (e1, e2) at both ends in the circumferential direction of the opening (30b).
