Summary:Dyestuffs of type: R'.N=N.R2.CO.NHR3 (where R1 = residue of a diazotised amine, R2 = ketomethylene, and R3 = naphthostyryl residue), are made by coupling a diazo- or diazoamino-cpd. with a component of type: H.R2.CO.NHR3. Pref. amines are of type: (where A = p- or (esp.) m-CONH-, X = H, halogen, lower alkyl or alkoxy, phenoxy, carboxylic ester or NO2). Pref. coupling components are acetoacetic arylides e.g. from aminonaphthostyryl. The products are pigmentary dyestuffs for synthetic fibres, and pigments for plastics, rubber, paints and cosmetics.
