Summary:The invention comprises carbamic acid esters of the formula:- <FORM:0956661/C2/1> wherein R1 and R2 represent the same or different C1-4 alkyl radicals (R1 being straight-chain) and R3 represents a C2-4 alkyl radical. The above compounds are prepared by reacting a 3-alkyl-4-N,N-dialkylamino-phenol of the formula: <FORM:0956661/C2/2> with methyl isocyanate, methyl carbamic chloride, N-methyl phenyl carbamate (under transesterification conditions), or with phosgene to form intermediate chloroformic acid alkyl N,N-di-alkylaminophenyl esters of the formula: <FORM:0956661/C2/3> or intermediate bis-(alkyl N,N-dialkylaminophenyl-) carbamic acid esters of the formula: <FORM:0956661/C2/4> which are then reacted with methylamine. The above carbamic acid esters are used as pesticides. Specification 954,733 also is referred to.ALSO:A pesticidal composition contains as the active ingredient a carbamic acid ester of the formula <FORM:0956661/A5-A6/1> wherein R1 and R2 represent the same or different C1-4 alkyl radicals (R1 being straight-chain) and R3 represents a C2-4 alkyl radical. Other ingredients include talc, chalk, bentonite, clay, water, alcohols, ketones, liquid hydrocarbons and emulsifiers. Known insecticides may be present. Specification 954,733 is referred to.
