L'invention un système d'entraînement (100) pour un dispositif de levage de patient. Le système d'entraînement comprend un tambour (321) conçu pour commander le mouvement vertical d'un dispositif de montage de support de patient (11) du dispositif de levage de patient par l'intermédiaire d'un élément de support de charge (12), au moins un moteur (270) apte à entraîner le tambour (321), chaque moteur (270) étant relié à un engrenage d'arbre de moteur (227), et une transmission (228) reliant le moteur (270) et le tambour (321), la transmission (228) étant apte à transférer un couple du moteur (270) au tambour (321).
