Summary:The disclosure provides methods and compositions for increasing immunity against coronaviruses, in particular highly pathogenic coronaviruses. Compositions are provided comprising peptides comprising at least a part of the S2 ectodomain of the S (spike) protein from at least one human coronaviruses (HCoV) selected from HCoV- NL63, HCoV-OC43, HCoV-229E and HCoV-HKU1, as well as compositions comprising nucleic acid molecules encoding at least a part of the S2 ectodomain of the S (spike) protein from at least one human coronaviruses (HCoV) selected from HCoV- NL63, HCoV-OC43, HCoV-229E and HCoV-HKU1. Compositions described herein are particularly useful as vaccines, in particular against highly pathogenic coronaviruses such as SARS-CoV-1, MERS-CoV and/or SARS-CoV-2 as well as cross-species transmission of typically non-human coronaviruses. L'invention concerne des méthodes et des compositions pour renforcer l'immunité contre les coronavirus, en particulier les coronavirus hautement pathogènes. L'invention concerne des compositions comprenant des peptides constitués d'au moins une partie de l'ectodomaine S2 de la protéine S (spicule) d'au moins un coronavirus humain (HCoV) choisi parmi HCoV-NL63, HCoV-OC43, HCoV-229E et HCoV-HKU1, ainsi que des compositions comprenant des molécules d'acide nucléique codant pour au moins une partie de l'ectodomaine S2 de la protéine S (spicule) d'au moins un coronavirus humain (HCoV) choisi parmi HCoV-NL63, HCoV-OC43, HCoV-229E et HCoV-HKU1. Les compositions décrites ici sont particulièrement utiles comme vaccins, notamment contre les coronavirus hautement pathogènes tels que le SARS-CoV-1, le MERS-CoV et/ou le SARS-CoV-2, ainsi que contre la transmission hétérospécifique de coronavirus typiquement non humains.
