Provided herein is a colorant composition comprising: 1) water; 2) at least one water-soluble inorganic salt; 3) microcrystalline cellulose; and 4) at least one colorant comprising water-soluble anionic dyes, water-soluble fluorescent brighteners, water-soluble cationic dyes, or combinations thereof. The colorant composition described may have a weight ratio of the at least one water-soluble inorganic salt to the at least one colorant in the colorant composition ranges from 1:0.25 to 1:4.0 and a specific gravity of the colorant composition is about 1.05 kg/l to about 1.45 kg/l. Also provided are methods of preparing the disclosed colorant composition. L'invention concerne une composition colorante comprenant : 1) de l'eau ; 2) au moins un sel inorganique hydrosoluble ; 3) de la cellulose microcristalline ; et 4) au moins un colorant parmi des colorants anioniques hydrosolubles, des azurants optiques hydrosolubles, des colorants cationiques hydrosolubles, ou des combinaisons de ceux-ci. La composition colorante décrite peut avoir un rapport en poids dudit sel inorganique hydrosoluble sur ledit au moins un colorant dans la composition colorante allant de 1 : 0,25 à 1 : 4,0 et un poids spécifique de la composition colorante est d'environ 1,05 kg/l à environ 1,45 kg/l.
