Described herein is a dental composition containing a polymerizable compound having at least one optionally derivatized ß-hydroxy urethane unit. The polymerizable compound having at least one optionally derivatized ß-hydroxy urethane unit is obtained without use of organo-metal catalysts and isocyanates and by a reaction between an at least one component A having at least one cyclic carbonate group with an at least one component B having at least one of primary amine functional group and secondary amine functional group. The present disclosure relates to use of the polymerizable compound having at least one optionally derivatized ß-hydroxy urethane unit for the preparation of a dental composition, in particular a dental composite, a glass ionomer, a dental cement, a dental sealant, and a dental adhesive. L'invention concerne une composition dentaire contenant un composé polymérisable qui comporte au moins un motif ß-hydroxy uréthane éventuellement dérivatisé. Le composé polymérisable comportant au moins un motif ß-hydroxy uréthane éventuellement dérivatisé est obtenu sans utiliser de catalyseurs organo-métalliques ni d'isocyanates, et par une réaction entre au moins un composant A comportant au moins un groupe carbonate cyclique et au moins un composant B comportant un groupe fonctionnel amine primaire et/ou un groupe fonctionnel amine secondaire. La présente invention concerne l'utilisation du composé polymérisable comportant au moins un motif ß-hydroxy uréthane éventuellement dérivatisé pour préparer une composition dentaire, en particulier un composite dentaire, un ionomère de verre, un ciment dentaire, un produit de scellement dentaire et un adhésif dentaire.
