Provided herein is a process for the preparation of a compound of formula (C): wherein R is Ci to C12 alkyl, which comprises: (a) combining a compound of formula (A): with R1MgX in an aprotic organic solvent; wherein Rl is Ci to C6 alkyl and X is Cl, Br or I; and (b) combining a Cl to C12 alkyl chloroformate or a di-(C1 to C12 alkyl)dicarbonate with the product of step (a), to provide the compound of formula (C). The process can be used to make compounds that are intermediates in processes for making compounds having antitumor activity, such as the compound of formula Al. Un procédé est décrit pour la préparation dun composé de formule (C) : R est un alkyle en C1-C12, qui comprend : (a) la combinaison dun composé de formule (A) : avec R1mgX dans un solvant organique aprotique, R1 étant un alkyle en C1-C6 et X étant Cl, Br ou I; (b) la combinaison dun carbonochloridate alkylé en C1-C12 ou un di-(alkyle C1-C12)dicarbonate avec le produit de létape (a) pour fournir le composé de formule (C). Le procédé peut être utilisé pour fabriquer des composés intermédiaires dans les procédés de fabrication de composés ayant une activité antitumorale, comme le composé de formule A1.
