Summary:Disclosed herein are inhibitors, such as antibodies, and antigen binding portions thereof, that selectively bind complexes of LTBP1-TGF.beta.1 and/or LTBP3-TGF.beta.1. The application also provides methods of use of these inhibitors for, for example, inhibiting TGF.beta.1 activation, and treating subjects suffering from TGF.beta.1-related disorders, such as fibrotic conditions. Methods of selecting a context- dependent or context-independent isoform-specific TGF.beta.1 inhibitor for a subject in need thereof are also provided. L'invention concerne des inhibiteurs, tels que des anticorps, et des fragments de liaison à l'antigène de ceux-ci, qui se lient de manière sélective à des complexes de LTBPl-TGFß1 et/ou LTBP3-TGFß1.
