Summary:The present invention provides a device and a method for purifying a nuclear reactor coolant radioactive material/adjusting the pH thereof. The device for purifying a nuclear reactor coolant radioactive material/adjusting the pH thereof is applied to a chemical and volume control system (CVCS) comprising a regenerative heat exchanger (10), a non-regenerative heat exchanger (20), and a volume control tank (50), and is installed between the non-regenerative heat exchanger (20) and the volume control tank (50) within a path of the nuclear reactor coolant. The device for purifying a nuclear reactor coolant radioactive material/adjusting the pH thereof comprises: a radioactive metal ion collecting unit (110) comprising a first cathode member (112) to which a cathode (-) is connected and a first anode member (114) to which an anode (+) is connected, the radioactive metal ion collecting unit (110) being configured such that a nuclear reactor coolant discharged from the non-regenerative heat exchanger (20) passes between the first cathode member (112) and the first anode member (114), through which DC power flows, and radioactive metal ions and metal particles are accordingly accumulated and collected by the first cathode member (112); a Li ion separating/concentrating unit (120) having a second anode member (124) provided on one side thereof such that an anode (+) is connected thereto, having a second cathode member (122) provided on the other side thereof such that a cathode (-) is connected thereto, and having a cation exchange membrane (126) installed between the second anode member (124) and the second cathode member (122) such that cations pass through the same, the Li ion separating/concentrating unit (120) being configured such that a nuclear reactor coolant that has passed through the radioactive metal ion collecting unit (110) passes between the second anode member (124) and the cation exchange membrane (126) and flows into the volume control tank (50), and the Li ion separating/concentrating unit (120) continuously recirculating pure water between the second cathode member (122) and the cation exchange membrane (126) such that Li+ ions that are generated in the nuclear reactor coolant and have passed through the cation exchange membrane (126) are moved toward the second cathode member (122) and are separated accordingly; and a Li7 concentrating tank (130) for recirculating Li7 separated by the Li ion separating/concentrating unit (120) back to the Li ion separating/concentrating unit (120) and concentrating Li7 in the process of recirculation.
