The present invention relates to a cellular communications network and in particular to the problem of identifying cells for neighbor lists, or handover candidates when the cells are identified by a limited number of non-unique identities. The present invention includes a method for a mobile terminal, wherein the mobile terminal receives a request from a base station which serves a first communications cell, retrieves a unique cell identity of a second communications cell, and reports the unique cell identity of the second communications cell to the radio base station of the first communications cell. La présente invention concerne un réseau de communication cellulaire et plus précisément, le problème de détermination de cellules de listes voisines ou de candidats de transfert lorsque les cellules sont déterminées par un nombre limité didentités non uniques. La présente invention comprend une méthode prévue pour un terminal mobile. Le terminal mobile en question reçoit une demande provenant dune station de base servant de première cellule de communications, récupère une identité de cellule unique auprès dune deuxième cellule de communications, et transmet lidentité de cellule unique de la deuxième cellule de communications à la station de base radio de la première cellule de communications.
