The invention relates to the preparation of a titanium dioxide-containing sol which contains a titanium compound which is preferably obtained when T1O2 is prepared according to the sulphate method by hydrolysis of a solution containing titanyl sulphate and/or which has a microcrystalline anatase structure and contains a zirconium compound, and the titanium dioxide sol obtained thereby and use thereof. L'invention concerne la préparation d'une solution contenant du dioxyde de titane qui renferme un composé de titane qui est de préférence obtenu avec TiO2 préparé selon le procédé au sulfate par hydrolyse d'une solution contenant du sulfate de titanyle et/ou qui a une structure anatase microcristalline et contient un composé de zirconium. L'invention concerne également la solution de dioxyde de titane ainsi obtenue et son utilisation.
