The present disclosure relates to methods for exporting target proteins (e.g., surface lipoproteins) from the cytosol to the extracellular surface of bacterial cells using surface lipoprotein assembly modulator (SLAM) polypeptides. The use of SLAM polypeptides in a method of preparing vaccines useful in the prevention of bacterial infectious diseases is also taught. La présente invention concerne des procédés d'exportation de protéines cibles (par exemple des lipoprotéines de surface) depuis le cytosol vers la surface extracellulaire de cellules bactériennes à l'aide de polypeptides SLAM (surface lipoprotein assembly modulator).
