Summary:A method of controlling a direction of a toolface of a bottom hole assembly for slide drilling is provided which involves synchronizing the toolface. Synchronizing the toolface involves the following steps: determining a relationship between a rotational position of the toolface with a rotational position at a surface of a formation for at least one point in time; stopping rotation of the drill string coupled to the bottom hole assembly; controlling torque at the surface of the drill string to control a rotational position of the toolface; and commencing slide drilling. Il est décrit un procédé de commande dune direction dune face doutil dun ensemble de fond de trou pour le forage par glissement consistant à synchroniser la face doutil. La synchronisation de la face doutil comprend les étapes suivantes : déterminer une relation entre une position de rotation de la face doutil à laide dune position de rotation à une surface dune formation au moins pour un moment donné; arrêter la rotation du train de tiges couplé à lensemble de fond de trou; commander le couple à la surface du train de tiges pour commander une position de rotation de la face doutil; et commencer le forage par glissement.
