This invention relates to a method of photodynamic therapy (PDT) for bladder cancer and its use as an adjuvant or neoadjuvant therapy in the treatment of bladder cancer. The invention provides a composition comprising hexyl 5-ALA ester (HAL) or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof for use in a method of photodynamic therapy for bladder cancer, wherein said composition is instilled into the bladder of a patient in need of such treatment and the inside of said bladder is exposed to blue light having a fluence rate of 1.5 to 12.5 mW/cm2 La présente invention concerne un procédé de thérapie photodynamique (PDT) pour le cancer de la vessie et son utilisation en tant qu'adjuvant de thérapie néo-adjuvante dans le traitement du cancer de la vessie. L'invention concerne une composition comprenant l'ester d'hexyle de 5-ALA (HAL) ou un sel pharmaceutiquement acceptable de celui-ci pour utilisation dans un procédé de thérapie photodynamique pour le cancer de la vessie, ladite composition étant instillée dans la vessie d'un patient ayant besoin d'un tel traitement et l'intérieur de ladite vessie est exposé à une lumière bleue ayant un débit de fluence de 1,5 à 12,5 mW/cm2.
