The gathering chains include continuous loops with a plurality of lateral extension segments which provide a substantially continuous conveying surface extending substantially across the width of the slot defining the path of travel of the row crop entering the row unit. L'invention concerne des chaînes de collecte pour des têtes moissonneuses de cultures en ligne qui améliorent le rendement en minimisant la perte de grains qui peuvent se détacher prématurément et être perdus sur le sol. Les chaînes de collecte comprennent des boucles continues avec une pluralité de segments à extension latérale qui constituent une surface de transport sensiblement continue s'étendant sensiblement sur toute la largeur de la fente définissant le trajet de déplacement de la culture en ligne entrant dans l'unité de ligne.
