Summary:A coating composition comprising an oxidized a -olefin having 16 to 40 carbon atoms and one or more carboxylic acid or ester groups; a hydrocarbon-soluble ester-containing polymer having at least one branch of 10 to 36 carbon atoms and having a number average molecular weight of 5000 to 300,000; a carboxylic acid of at least 10 carbon atoms; a salt of an alkylarylsulfonic acid; an oil in an amount sufficient to dissolve said metal salt; and optionally, a volatile diluent, provides good rust protection. L'invention concerne une composition de revêtement comprenant une a-oléfine oxydée ayant 16 à 40 atomes de carbone et un ou plusieurs groupes acide carboxylique ou ester ; un polymère contenant un ester soluble dans les hydrocarbures ayant au moins une ramification de 10 à 36 atomes de carbone et ayant un poids moléculaire moyen en nombre de 5 000 à 300 000 ; un acide carboxylique d'au moins 10 atomes de carbone ; un sel d'un acide alkylarylsulfonique ; une huile en quantité suffisante pour dissoudre ledit sel métallique ; et éventuellement, un diluant volatil, assurant une bonne protection contre la rouille.
