Summary: | A method defines a particular region for locating the data center and sections the region into a plurality of climate zones. For a given climate zone, one or more of temperature and sun irradiation data is gathered at a particular time interval frequency throughout a year. One or more of an amount of free cooling and an amount of solar cooling available for each of the time intervals associated with the given climate zone is determined. A remaining amount of cooling needed above what can be provided by one or more of the free cooling and the solar cooling for each of the time intervals associated with the given climate zone is determined. The remaining amount of cooling needed above what can be provided is determined. The remaining amount for each climate zone within the region is compared to identify an optimum location for the data center. |
