Non-muscle myosin II antagonists are disclosed to surprisingly and dramatically accelerate MSC-triggered regeneration of damaged tissues arid unexpectedly and drastically reduce severe complications of stem cell treatment. L'invention englobe des compositions et des méthodes de traitement d'une maladie vasculaire, telle qu'une maladie artérielle périphérique, les procédés mettant en jeu l'administration à un patient en ayant besoin d'une quantité efficace d'une composition comprenant une population de cellules, telles que des cellules souches mésenchymateuses (MSC), et un antagoniste non myosine musculaire O tel que la blebbistatine. Les antagonistes de myosine non musculaires II de l'invention, de façon surprenante et dramatique, accélèrent la régénération déclenchée par MSC des tissus endommagés et, de façon inattendue et drastique, réduisent des complications graves de traitement par des cellules souches.
