Summary:A cannula assembly having a retention member and a method of manufacture of the cannula assembly is provided. The cannula assembly includes a cannula and a sleeve disposed around the cannula from a proximal end to a distal end. The sleeve can include a balloon formed by a stretch blow molding process following local heating once advanced over the cannula. Once formed, the balloon can be conditioned to constrict against the cannula. A conditioning aid can be advanced over the balloon when it is still formable to constrict the balloon against the cannula. La présente invention concerne un ensemble canule possédant un organe de retenue, et un procédé de fabrication de l'ensemble canule. L'ensemble canule comprend une canule et un manchon disposé autour de la canule entre une extrémité proximale et une extrémité distale. Le manchon peut comprendre un ballon formé par un processus de moulage par soufflage avec étirage après un chauffage local lorsqu'il est avancé sur la canule. Une fois formé, le ballon peut être conditionné de manière à être comprimé contre la canule. Une aide au conditionnement peut être avancée sur le ballon lorsqu'il est encore possible de le former afin de comprimer le ballon contre la canule.
